Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

If you are interested in volunteering for our foodbank, please send an email to [email protected] for more information.

Trustees

interested We are looking for two new trustees – could you help?

The trustees:

  • Set the direction for the foodbank – what should we be doing? Are we meeting the needs of the people who come to us?
  • Ensure that we meet legal and best practice standards

In particular we are looking for a Secretary and a Chair of Trustees. We meet every 2 months and need to understand what is happening at the foodbank. if you have not been a trustee before we can provide training.

There are detailed job descriptions here:

If you are interested, or want to chat through what’s involved then please ring Susan Ayers (the current CHair of trustees) for a chat (07931 373398) or arrange to come to foodbank to meet us and see what we do.

Helping at a foodbank centre

Meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support.

If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
