Record Breaking £1,596 raised at Manchester Piccadilly Station

30th October 2016

We raised around half the cash we need to run the foodbank for a year in one day at Manchester Piccadilly St.

It was a record breaking £1,596 the best ever since Trussell Trust has run Foodbank Friday collections at stations across the country. More proof of Manchester’s generosity.

Local people are very generous and gave over £20,000 of food in the 18 months to March. However we still need money for admin to make it all work – things like insurance, paper, petrol, internet connection.

So thanks to the heroes of Manchester Piccadilly – the volunteers who collected; the commuters who gave and Network Rail who made it all possible.

Betty reckons she collected as much in an hour as the rest of us did in 2 hours - she is probably right.
