Commuters at Manchester Piccadilly Station gave us a fantastic £1687.44 to run the foodbank. This will help to pay for all the things that beans do not buy – like insurance, rent and internet. We are all volunteers but we still need about £8,500 a year to run the foodbank and give out the £30,000 worth of food that is donated locally.
Our volunteers were there from 7am to 7pm on Friday 15th November including a team from Onward and they kept smiling!
Thanks also go to the Excess Baggage Company on Platform 10 – they let us store the money in their secure facility as we collected it.
Network Rail gave us the slot to collect at the station and made sure that we and travellers were kept safe.
