Christmas is a time when local people in crisis can feel more isolated than ever. However, people all over the community came out in force to try and make a small but meaningful difference to this.
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who lent a hand, donated a pound or brought in a tin of something throughout the Christmas season.
Thank you to Tesco and ASDA for their long term commitment in offering collections, drop boxes and cash backs.
Thank you to Mountain Equipment and Kerry Foods for their food donations.
Thank you to the Janice Hughes School of Dance for their food donations. Janice wanted to give something back over this period and had the idea of putting a collection basket in the studio. She collected enough food to provide over 250 meals.
Thank you to Alder High School who gave us such an enormous donation from their Christmas jumper day that we have not yet weighed it in!
Thank you Manchester Fire and British Gas for their team of volunteers who packed over 2 tonnes of food for school holiday meals.
Thank you to Grenville Lunn and the MAD Hatters – a volunteer group at the GP surgery – who provided over 80 wrapped parcels of toys.
Thank you to Action Together Tameside for providing a grant of £3,000 for winter provisions and 2 deliveries of toys.
And last but not least, a massive thank you to all the local people who stopped by to donate money and food.
