Mr D Leech brought a donation from Ashton Christadelphians into our foodbank at Hattersley. We estimate that it was enough food to provide 160 meals to local families in crisis. 9th October 2018 Pupils from St James’ Catholic Primary School in Hattersley brought their harvest gift into the foodbank. Findel Education getting kids ready for new school year

Thanks to Claire Woolley and all her colleagues at Findel Education in Hyde. They provided over 70 pencil cases and pens ready for children to go back to school. We added the pencil cases some of the 45 food parcels that we have provided over the school holidays. The kids were really thrilled.

80 years ago George Orwell set off to explore poverty in 1930’s Britain. He visited Birmingham, Stocke Macclesfield and Manchseter. 80 year latter some journalists have repeated the journey and found disturbing similarities. Active Tameside supported World Hunger day by donating all the profits from sales of bottled water to Tameside South and Longdendale Foodbank. They gave £240 to help with all our costs like top-up food when we run low and general running expenses. Everyone at the foodbank is a volunteer but….like everyone else…… we still have bills. […]
